LATERAL TRANSFER OPPORTUNITY FOR: Firefighter, Advanced Firefighter, and Apparatus Operator Chatham Emergency Services is actively seeking currently certified and experienced firefighters for its lateral hire program. Firefighter, Advanced Firefighter, and Apparatus Operator positions are available based on meeting position specific experience, certifications/licenses, and education. Our goal is to cultivate a highly motivated, effective, and diverse workforce to meet the emergency services needs of Chatham County. Desirable candidates will have strong work place ethics and good moral character, good judgment and excellent communication skills, dedication to public service and to our local communities, commitment to continuous self-improvement and career development, physical fitness, and the capacity to meet the mental and physical demands of the job. Candidates must apply online, and submit copies of all required documents to be considered for a lateral position. Upon receipt of your complete application and required documents, further information regarding the testing process will be sent to the email address provided on your application. Candidate testing process includes an online written aptitude exam, physical agility test, full drug screen, in person interview, firefighter medical evaluation and fitness assessment (NFPA 1582), and a comprehensive background and driving history search. Candidate must successfully complete all pre-hire requirements to be considered.
